Hi,
I’m Skripht. At least on the internet I am. I’m a casual blogger, I blog when I think I have something to say, and that is not every day.
I’m a PhD-student in educational science, and working on a thesis about student teachers learning to use technology in their teaching and learning. It’s quite interesting, but a lot of hard work. The reason I ended up with this project was my interest in technology, and not only the cool gadgets that surrounds us, but also the conceptual side of it. New technology changes the way we get information, do our daily business, and relate to each other. To some extent, what makes us human is our ability to use tools to shape our environment, and the more “tools” we invent, the more “shaped” will our environment be. Technology is not a matter of use or no use; it is a state of mind, a way of thinking that we have to engage in if we want to understand what is going on in our society. This blog might help (at least me) to find out more about how this all encompassing technological environment have an impact on our lives.
This blog functions as a “reminder” for myself, and the text posted here is not posted as finished texts. I consider the process of creating text as a process of learning. I am continually coming back to the texts, reading them again and developing them further. As the conceptual side of technology is something that interests me immensely, I consider this space my intellectual playground.
Happy reading!
